Internship at Shift Digital

Creating the Octane Website

During my time as a web developer intern at Shift Digital, I worked on a significant project: designing the Octane website for Martin Horik. Mr. Horik, known for his TV shows on Canadian networks, gave us a chance to demonstrate our abilities.

Roles and Contributions:

I was involved in several aspects of the website development:
Research
To design a website that matched Mr. Horik’s brand and appealed to the target audience, I researched market trends, competitors, and user preferences. Additionally, I sought inspiration from various sources to ensure a fresh and innovative design approach.
Wireframing
After gathering insights from research and finding inspirations, I created initial designs for the website. These wireframes provided a clear plan for the website’s layout and user experience.
Design
Using design principles, I developed an attractive and user-friendly interface. This included creating design mockups, choosing color schemes, and ensuring easy navigation for Octane’s users.
Development
My colleague and I used WordPress to build the website. We added custom features, integrated necessary plugins, and ensured the site worked well on different devices.

My internship at Shift Digital was a valuable learning opportunity. Working on the Octane website project taught me the importance of teamwork, attention to detail, and adaptability in web development. I appreciate the guidance and experiences I gained, which will helped me to grow as a professional web developer.
